Shamatha Meditation
Join us for shamatha (calm-abiding) meditation practice, a mind-training that uses diverse focusing techniques to help the mind settle and help the mind-owner notice its habitual patterns of distraction. This practice will be joined with exploration of fundamental Buddhist concepts. No experience necessary.

This concise practice, held in English, focuses on prayer, visualization, and mantra recitation evoking Tara, the visualized expression of our own infinite potential for pure awareness and compassion.
Let's gather in person for Chagdud Rinpoche's heart practice and meditate together on developing awareness and compassion for all beings. Whether you are curious about Tibetan Buddhist meditation or would like to refresh or share your connection with this precious practice, let's do it together! Empowerments required Wedndesday Feb 19 to Friday Feb 28, 2025 Red Vajrasattva: February 19 - 21, 2025 Padmakilaya: February 22 - 24, 2025 Vajrakilaya: February 25 - 27, 2025 Losar Day celebration – February 28, 2025 Let’s join together to conclude the final days of the Wood Dragon Year with power and auspiciousness at our group ritual ceremonies. These meditation practices include prayers and mantra recitations, teachings, and daily feast offerings (tsok). Then, we will gather together to welcome the Wood Snake year, Wednesday Feb 28, to take the bodhichitta vow and recite the King of Aspiration Prayers. It will be permissible to attend any of the practices for any amount of days, but you must have the specific empowerment for each. Lama Padma will bestow the Red Vajrasattva and Padmakilaya empowerments on the first morning of their respective practice days, ie., Feb. 19 and 22, respectively. The empowerments will not be livestreamed.
