Summer Half-Day Meditation at Vista

Once again we have the privilege of offering a half day meditation session at the beautiful forested property at Vista! This is a free event. Donations towards future Dharma events are gratefully accepted.
All meditation practitioners are most welcome!!

Our friend Nansi has opened the use of Vista for people to come and meditate, contemplate and rejuvenate on:

Sunday June 22, July 20 and August 24 from 1:30-4:30

Vista Rd. is located on the North Klondike Highway about 4 km north of theTakini Gas station.
Turn left at sign on Vista Road.
Turn right on the lower road of the property at a sign which says Wild School.
Park in the cleared parking area on the left off the dirt road. Follow the painted rocks to get to the large hall (Forest Mahal) for an opening circle.
Then you are on your own to practice in the hall or other locations on the property near the hall, gather to talk, walk in the forest and breathe the clean air.
Dress for the weather  if you may want to sit outside. Bring a bag lunch or snacks, something to drink and whatever you like to sit upon. We will gather together again at the Forest Mahal at 4:30 to dedicate the merit.
Please no dogs. Please do not venture to the upper part of the property where people are living.

Four Sets of Nyungnay Practice:
The Purification Ritual of Avalokiteshvara

Saturday, May 24 to Monday June 2, 2025

The practice of the fasting ritual is an easy yet powerful means to clear away obstacles to physical and mental well-being. It brings the practitioner to the essence of the supreme secret of Avalokiteshvara, the compassionate expression of all buddhas.

‍By reciting prayers, repeating the mantra of Avalokiteshvara and offering prostrations, all kinds of negative actions are purified and conditions favourable for spiritual growth will flourish.
‍By taking the temporary eight precepts (avoiding killing, stealing, sex, lies, alcohol, high seats or beds, eating after noon, perfume, music and dance, jewelry, etc.), the conditions for experiencing happiness in this and future lives and, ultimately, attaining enlightenment, are created.

‍This retreat will be held during the most auspicious time of the year for Nyungnay practice, the month of Sagadawa.
